Recruitment does not sleep during Summer months 06 . 26 . 17

There is a reoccurring conversation that I have with candidates come May each year, that recruitment takes a Summer vacation along with all hiring managers in Luxembourg. This is simply not the case.

It is true that many people take extended holidays, sometimes up to three weeks but this does not mean that all hiring comes to a complete halt. There is always a need for talent. 

In my 11 years of experience recruiting for the Luxembourg market, financial services and funds companies continue to hire well into June, July and August. (with the third quarter of the year continuously my busiest). 

There is no right or wrong time to look for a new career opportunity as vacancies can come about due to expansion, change or staff turnover. The advise I always give to people who are considering making a move during the Summer months is to get prepared. Do your research, make connections and contact recruiters in your network who can help you to secure your next  dream role. 

Use the Summer months of June and July wisely so that if you, like many in Luxembourg intend  taking vacation in August, you are one step ahead of the rest of your competition and ready to commence interviews come September.
